Wow! I’m gone fishing for a couple days when this thread had 4 replies. I had one typed but clicked the back button as we can’t have a discussion with a few of the kids posting. Upstate is like the pussywhipped husband whose wife is yelling comments and he just echos them……he just can’t figure out what to say so he tosses little jabs from behind his wife……..lol. AI copy/pastes, Kieth pretending he cares for us Canadians and feels bad for us……while most of us carry on living the dream.

After a fishing trip to this weekend, I got to chatting with the many Americans who came up for fishing……roughly from Montana to NYS.You guys are hurting bad down there and I’m sorry to see you in this kind of shape. There 3 or 4 posters on here that are the extreme minority of American citizens and they don’t reflect how most Americans feel. I noticed this during my trip to a few western states this summer too. Everyone recognizes the state that the Republican Party is in, and some big changes will have to happen for them to stay in power. Damage has been done, and now gas is being poured on the fire. Your “America First” leader is going down, and he’s content with taking the Party and every American citizen down along with him.
Even if power is lost in a couple months, there’s decades of repair work to be done but neither party is up to it right now.

As to the topic of the thread……it’s simple……trump can’t be trusted, so why even try writing up a deal?
Pretty sad when the world believes Kim Jong Un’s statements carry more weight than trump…….
Life really hasn’t changed much around here. Sure gas is up, but what’s new? They’ll find some reason to jack the price, just fill up and carry on right?

Things are "bad" down here?

While I unfortunately seem to dislike the man I voted for more with each passing week, this post may be just a weeeee bit over-the-top lol. How are we "hurting bad"? Sure, gas is up just like it is up there, and inflation still has not yet been tamed since Covid, but other than that things down here are fine. Our markets are strong, with companies posting stellar earnings. Unemployment is down. IMO the best thing Trump has done was to appoint a slew of good conservative justices, both to the SCOTUS but equally importantly, to the lower courts. Burdensome regulations are being rolled back (another huge plus of his).

I will say he has hurt the country's credibility due to his constant flip-flopping.

But the biggest problem we have, IMO, is that both of our parties have moved too far to the left. We have no true conservative party. The democrats are so far left even Satan is embarrassed by them. But the republicans, with their incessant fiscal spending and now starting to embroil the nation in socialism by taking control of private companies is extremely alarming. And the trade issues, while I wouldn't go so far as to call alarming, are just dumb and will hurt us economically.

But we're surely not in the dire straights you make it sound like we're in down here, lol. Life is pretty good!

Good to hear Yote! Generally when I run into Americans up here, they got to great lengths to avoid political talk. But I heard the same over summer time down there. I’m talking just regular everyday folk you’d chat with while topping up at the gas station.

Ok, now I think I’m making some progress with you. You keep bringing up gayness so that’s telling me something.
I’m sure you’re not gay now, but at one point in your younger life, you were after a boy who probably turned you down. You were then bullied by your piers to no end as to your change of “sexual habits” had been made public by said boy who wasn’t attracted to the same crowd as you.

A lot of these shootings in the US (and here for that matter) are committed by mentally unstable people who have gone through exactly what you’ve experienced. Don’t be another statistic and make the national news for something stupid.
Just remember, God made you with a pecker, don’t try to change what you are. God loves you too…….God Bless his child.

Shakeyjake, just remember that most of the time the loudest voices are the vocal MINORITY. For every person with a woe is me sob story about how bad things have gotten there are 50 others who are doing just fine and are happy with their lives. Unemployment is low food is readily available and the vast majority of us don't need to go to bed at night in fear.

Oh and Shakeyjake, just a afterthought, you say that you spoke to Americans from Montana to NYS up there fishing. Think about this, things are so bad down here that they had the time money and resources to go to a foreign country on a fishing trip. That is a luxury that the majority of the world is not afforded.

Its horrible down here i tell you. I have great health insurance at a cheap price, a month of paid vacations and several paid Holliday. Will make around 70k with no overtime or can hit in the 150 to 160 or anywhere in between depending on how much I wanted to work. No degree required. Have a pension..

Its horrible I tell you. My only limiting factor is my Illness and myself. The opportunity is there its what we decide to make of it. America where a guy raised by poor single mom can figure out how make well over 6 figures, become debt free and have a millions dollar net worth By 46 despite all his dumb mistakes inspite himself.

A country millions pack up and flock to legally and illegally. Your right it awful spread the word and maybe people will quit coming.

Dont forgot Americans have had it so good for so long they complain about things most of the world would beg to get. The most poor American is richer than 80% of the world's population is read.

We get all caught up in first world problems. Like said above. They are complaining about how bad it is while having the freedom and funds to go in an international fishing trip. Ya they are in bad shape.

Finally some decent perspective on living. The whole woe is me narrative from either you Americans or us Canadians is ridiculous. Facebook and other media forms like youtube, X etc etc. have convinced people living more comfortable than any generation before, to do nothing but complain about how bad they have it. lol

X2, and I’ll bet most NFLD moose outfitters are booked solid with US hunters.
