I'm looking into a pellet gun for squirrels on roofs, pigeons in barns and possible euthanization in cages. I don't like the idea of lugging a specific compressor around to refill a chamber. Any thoughts?

I have been using a .22 cal. Crosman Optimus, with a scope. Have taken around 100 pigeons, 40-50 squirrels, and about a dozen rock chucks.
The trigger from the factory is terrible but is easily adjustable. It is a break-action type air rifle, shooting about 950 fps. Pretty fast for a .22 ca. Runs about $200.

I just saw where air venturi has a hybrid pcp available. It has a pcp air tank and an on board pump lever like the old daisy for topping off the tank.
Didn't look to deep into it so don't know if you fill it from a compressor and pump just to top off or what.

The Seneca dragonfly mkii for a pumper looks good.

I use a .177 Gamo for squirrel and for dispatch. Does not fail me.

I keep a nitro piston 177 at the cabin for shooting red squirrels.

I use a pcp rifle in .22 and an scba tank for refills.

I have been hunting squirrels and rabbits with my RWS .177 single stroke pellet rifle for many years. Does a great job out to 50 yards or so
