I think I am done saying yes if someone asks to borrow something… lent this pump out last fall and called yesterday to get it back. (Yes I know ?)

This is how it was returned….. was basically brand new when lent out….

Yes, I was trained by brothers in law many years ago.

I lend a lot of things out. Most all come back in great shape except the stuff my kids borrow.

Dont lend anything out that you expect to get returned.
I only lend out stuff I want to get rid of.

That tells you all you need to know about that person and how much respect they have for you. If I borrow something and it gets broken it gets replaced. It also gets taken back as soon as im done. Anyone that doesn't do the same is not someone I need in my life. That have zero respect for you

Father told me absolutely never lend a chainsaw.

It is a sure deal that if you loan a chainsaw it will be returned with a broken pull cord, or it will be siezed-up.

I had one that looked like it had been literally dropped from a 10 story building and hit on the end and bent like an accordion.
Not a cheap farm store live trap either.

I loan stuff out all the time. I'd have a talking to with the person that didn't bring something back or broken. That person would lose their privileges forever. But no need to punish others who have borrowed and brought back like they should

I need a large puller. Can not find where to buy let alone borrow.
Will try the bigger city tool rental places next.

When something is loaned I right it down on the calendar.

I stopped lending things. They either never bring it back or it broken...

On the flip side I dont barrow things either. Heck I borrowed a 4 way tire tool once becust it was closer than driving to a store to buy one. The welds broke on the first lug nut with very little force applied.. so I ended up at the part store anyway and bought 2. One to replace the broken borrowed one and one for the new to me vehicle that didnt have one in it.

I quit borrowing stuff years ago. If I borrow something and it breaks ...... Then I have to buy my buddies a brand new "whatever I broke" tool. So I just go out and my one for myself that way I have it to keep. Only ones I let borrow stuff is brothers or my brother-in-law, with the saying "you break it.... buy me a new one" !!! My son gets a pass on anything.

Friend of mine had over 20 live coon traps, people would ask to borrow one but never bring it back...last I heard he had 1 left...

i was asked once, if they could borrow a hunting rifle. My reply was short and sweet...........NO
