Seen this hat at antique store, what kind of fur do y’all think it is?

My guess is snow leopard, but I’ve never seen a snow leopard

Sorry snow leopard was my attempt at humor, it’s fairly old, how can you tell the spots are dyed out of curiosity. And who wouldn’t want there gal to sport a dog fur hat?

I would sy rabbit. Very common for cheap fur hats years ago. I had one as a kid, rabbit fur with a coon tail. Cheap and warm. And there used to be a larger meat rabbit market so there were a whole lot of rabbit hides available.

So dog or rabbit or Eurasian Lynx, with the spots dyed, thanks a lot folks!!!!!!

Ok, I was asked by the shop owner to try and Id the fur. I will tell her it’s a dog or rabbit fur hat made by Frederickson’s of Finland.

She had 20 bucks on it, I will tell her to offer 5 bucks for someone to take it to the trash bin.

Here is a domestic north american rabbit fur.The hat looks to be in good shape,I would say worth 20 bucks but if you can talk them down all the better,lol.

I don’t want it, she’s my friend and she wanted to know what kind of fur it is. It almost feels like two types of fur to me, real coarse on the back and soft on the spotted sides.
