Gang,

been a minute since I've been on. wrapped up Minnesota fishing on labor day weekend and also finished up a loooooong running project I've been working on, sitting at a table on the screened in porch of the cabin. I've said for years once I retire I am going to seriously work on becoming an author. I've been working on this project pretty significantly the last two years and finally finished up two manuscripts that turned into two series of novels and a short story about my trip to Idaho two years ago. I'd actually started the Caleb Whitaker series 10 years ago and it's been hit and miss until I finally had time to devote to it. Now in full disclosure, the books are ok in my opinion. Hemingway is safe for another few years. I've got a couple of others in the works and we will see if I finish them or not. Heck of a lot more work than I anticipated going in. If any of you are interested in frontier/mtnman/western type books the Caleb Whitaker might be for you. The Abel Rucker the making of Abel Cain is a seafaring series that started out as a prequel to Caleb Whitaker and may still end up there, but it kind of developed it's own world as it went along. That part of the writing was very interesting and a bit rewarding to me. anyways, the books are published on amazon and I've had a few sales and am up to 3089 pages read on Kindle Unlimited as of today. I enrolled the books in kindle unlimited for free for those of you who have that option. the books are available as Ebooks and soft cover. Appreciate any interest and here is the amazon link.

Grabbed the Idaho trapping story and Caleb Whitaker on Unlimited to read at camp next week. You're right, authoring is harder than it sounds. I wrote one book of hound hunting stories, and really should write a book of guiding stories, some of the stories of clients I have guided could be really humorous. But if I wrote that, it might not be a good idea to publish until I retired, might not be helpful to the business. wink I also wrote a science fiction novel, that I never did finish editing and publish, should get back to that some day, haven't looked at it in years.

sweet! thanks Bearcat2. Please let me know what you think. I've had some friends and family read and got a positive reaction, but you know how subjective those are. Much appreciated!

I was going to write a paper back book ...of Drunken ice fishing stories..

Just for the back of the toilet.

I have some true stories that the world should know about.

I doubt if anyone could top it !!!

Gang, little update on this book project before trapping season kicks off. Since this post on trapperman, I saw an immediate bump in a few book orders and kindle unlimited reads. That gives the Amazon algorithm the opportunity to "see" the books i am told. The books have actually taken off pretty well. Thank you Trapperman!

107 e books and soft covers sold - i've priced the entry books to the three series at .99 as e books so no big deal lol. The Kindle Unlimited reading is a big deal however, it has hit 94,457 pages since inception and 82000 pages have come in October. Velocity has picked up significantly the last 10 days. Appears old Caleb has some folks interested in his story. There is a good bit of the outdoors in the book, trapping, hounds, horses and hunting. it's a fictional story lol, not a trapping manul, but it gives good exposure. The four book series has a read thru rate of 71%.. Volume 1 has made it into the top 100 in classic historical fiction three times and hovered in the 150 mark. I've put the related books in que and everything will be published by this coming Monday. These manuscripts were from 2001-2012.. finally got something done with them when i had time. Appreciate all your support thank you very much!!
