Wife has talked about it a couple of times over the years but we've never done anything about it. Tomorrow is 38 years for us. Wouldn't have any problems with it if that is what she really wants.

Once was enough, thanks, LOL. Anything more is a learning disability.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I can see some people wanting to do that and have zero problem with it.
Everyone who has been married knows things change with regularity based on what you learn from each other. As you get to know each other you start to see things you didn't see before you were married. Some see renewing of vows as a way to address those newfound intricacies about the one they love. They see it as a way to dedicate themselves in an even deeper way and give meaning to that dedication.
I know my wife and I had an epiphany about each other about five years ago and our marriage took on a new level of love we wish we would have had when we first married. Age and experience tend to change people. We could have renewed based on that but the thought never crossed our minds as we were ecstatic to finally find each other at an older age.
If you have no problem renewing your vows and your wife wants to, I don't see anything but benefit in doing so. In this day and time there is too much divorce and separation and if this keeps one couple together and renews and strengthens their marriage then I would definitely do it. Be specific in your renewal of vows as to what has brought this on. It will have meaning to both of you.
How many lies will people believe before they realize their own idiocy?

Wife: Honey why don't you ever tell me that you love me? Husband: I told you on our wedding day that I love you. If that ever changes, I'll let you know.

I planned a surprise renewal ceremony for our 25th anniversary back in 2009. Bought her a 3 stone "Past Present Future" ring. We were vacationing in North Carolina with our boys. The oldest was stationed at Fort Bragg getting ready to deploy. I set things up with a minister at a Methodist church in Bryson City. My Bride was very surprised and kept saying I can't believe you did this! I'm glad that I did it. Little things mean a lot to the Ladies. She wears that ring every day and it probably cost less than one of my hunting trips. Money well spent!
