Peg asked me yesterday if I’d like to do something like that.. renewal of our vows.
Oct 5 will make 35 years together.

We discussed it since we picked out head stone for my son on our anniversary that year. But never went any further than that and it has not come up in several years.


I Figured the death do us part kind of made doing it one good enough. Ladies do like to have a party and be the center of attention though. Would be a good excuse to do so.

No. Our Anniversary is also Oct. 5. It will be 38 years for us.

My grand parents did at their 50th. Grandma wore the same dress that she got married in.

We're doing ours next year for our 30th.

Nothing major. A friend is doing the "ceremony". I'm a little afraid because he is a big prankster.

Then we'll have some grub. And since we're old, be in bed by 10... lol

We have a cruise planned for the next year. So it's not like our first time where we left the reception, went home, grabbed our bags, and headed to the airport.

Nah, ours took good the first time. No need to redo something that's been working for 55 years.

We did on our 25th. We made our 50th a month before Sally died. I thought it was no big deal when we did it. It seems more important now. I'm glad we did it.

I should have explained why: My wife got cancer in 2000 and wanted to attend church more frequently. She talked to the priest, a great guy, who told her that in the eyes of the church we weren't really married. Apparently the chapel on Circus Circus casino in 1976 didn't qualify. LOL Anyway, we got remarried in the vestibule. Us 2, 2 witnesses and the priest. Took about 10 minutes and then we all went to lunch. The priest bought a bottle of champagne.

Yeah we did for our 35th with the same pastor as the first time. Kid's and grandkids were involved so it was pretty cool, I'd marry that gal again any day!

No. 40 years for us, and every day we both live up to the first vows we made. Maybe your wife just wants a party or a dinner date.
