Is it Crazy that I just got the parts in for my Small Block Chevy. All of the Machining has been done. I ordered the Crank rods Flat Top Pistons 392 Fireball Cam from edelbrock and everything else to turn my Small Block into a 383 Stroker. Also have the Blower that has been still in the Box for almost two years. Going to start assembling it this week. What is Crazy is I do not have a Hot Rod Yet to put it in. My 68 Camaro and my 67 Chey short bed 4x4 are already done. My short Bed was my Grandfathers and I bought it from his estate from my Uncle When Grandpa passed away back when I was a Teenager. I was a Gear Head back then and my Uncle held onto it because he said Granpa would have wanted me to have it. It has a 396 Big Block. Problem is that Grandpa bought that Truck Brand new to pull his old Cable Dozer he had back in 1960. That half ton Chevy pulled that Dozer all over half of WV on those old dirt roads. The Problem is that 45 miles an hour is kinda top end and 40 much better. You can floor it in high range 2 wheel drive and get about almost 50 MPH. That is why I leave it in WV. Now I will have this motor built and thought of finding a Chevelle or something but then I thought of getting my wife an older 32 T Bucket. I even thought of finding another of her Favorites (Mazda Miata) and trying to stuff it into one. Miatas are real wheel drive but then I would be afraid the Drive Train would not handle a Stroker. I would love to build a T bucket But I think my wife would Hog it. What do you guys think????

Not crazy at all, I have purchased thousands of rounds of ammo before I had a firearm to shoot it. You are doing same thing only different.

GUK.....it's the sound they make when they hit the end of the cable

Is the 67 short bed a stepside or fleet side ?

Both are rare in 4x4 .......very hard to find with only roughly a thousand units each produced in 67

Fleetside. I was told the Big Block makes it very rare. The 68 Camaro I bought from John Bergstrom. He owns probably the largest GM Dealership in Wisconsin. He also owns Stromberg which is just Bergstrom just spelled Different. He bought 5 of them special made for his Racing Team his son was running. Then wrecked one really bad on Road America so he sold the other 4 not wanting his son to get killed the next time. It has the Big Block 5 speed and full floater (Corvette) rear end. It cost me my D/L four times before I was 26. Was caught doing 106 MPH on tower Drive Bridge in Green Bay.

putting sentimental emotions aside I'd put the small block in the pickup and get rid of the 396.
Change the rear end to something more reasonable.

It'll end up being more practical to drive, whats the point in having it if its just sitting and rotting away.

Letting a car sit ain't good for it.

the Pick up is four wheel drive. You cannot just change the Rear end you would have to change the front axle as well. Probably the Transfer case is geared low as well. I do drive the Camaro once in a while. Usually from May to August. The Truck gets driven more. Usually everytime I go to the Feed store for the Horse Feed. But they are both in WV where I visit fairly Regularly
