Any commercial leather lube oil (stuffing oil) will work,but you can use dish soap,eggs brain etc.Those are commonly used alone to make buckskin.
As an experiment one time I used fuel mixing oil as a leather lube on a furskin-it worked well but the smell was the big negative.
