I will wait to target them until after they den up. I would think the leather would look like tar paper right now. Maybe that doesn't matter in this market.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Been catching and putting them up all summer and still getting decent price for them.

I got back into trapping with the idea of not making any money and so far have been quite successful.

They prime quicker than other animals.

Skunks prime up early. Leather will be just fine.

I trapped 82 or more and the only ones with blue leather were 3 or 4 juveniles caught in September. I started 3rd week of September last year-everything else had clear leather

Had a skunk trapped in my garbage can by the side doorsteps yesterday.
Almost got sprayed,I tossed a small box in the garb can and heard a shuffeling noise, when I peeked in the skunk had his tail straight up bud could not see anything to aim at.
I let him settle down a bit then,Like a few other times I gently tipped the garb can away from me to let him out. When he got out he made a U turn and ran directly toward me with his tail up.I ran like heck away from him and he chased me into the back yard where he went between the shed and the canoe and allowed me to escape.
A good reminder to move the garbage can away from the steps.
If he hangs around the bait shed I will take him out when he primes up some in November.

Yep,7 out of 8 were head/neck single strikes, one was a suitcase, all with homemade 120s where I added a spring to a 110.

Les, what sort of trigger setup are you using?
The kids and I have been experimenting with circle triggers on Bridger 120's, and really liking the results.

I put the trigger on the bottom in a v or half circle shape….trigger out facing the incoming skunk…if you want a suitcase catch put the trigger in…
