Somewhere in the last few months, I've managed to misplace 20lbs.

I wouldn't recommend this diet plan though. Most of that time spent back and forth to the missus in the hospital and skipping meals.

She's home for now though. Still a long road ahead of us.

Don't eat for you. Eat for her. She needs you to be strong and able. That is good you have lost 20 lbs if it was needed. Just keep your energy level and nutrition optimal because she needs a healthy husband.

Do it for her.

It's easy to forget to take care of yourself when you're taking care of someone else. Like bowhunter said, she needs you to be healthy so watch out for yourself too.

I got it to spare, lol. Could afford to lose that much more.

Might slow down for now as I'm cooking for her now and trying to put the weight back on her.

You are a devoted husband and a good man. Prayers for both of you that all will be well.

Grandkids are so much fun. We should have had them first.

definitely remember to take care of yourself.

care givers often sacrifice their health for the loved ones they are caring for and then you are both in a bad place.

remember to take care of you also , it is like putting on your oxygen mask first then helping the people around you.

I noticed that I wasn't taking as good of care of my own issues while I was dealing with my wife's care.

loosing 20 pounds after age 45-50 can be good but if done with a lot of meal skipping or bad meals it can come at the price of muscle loss as well and you need to keep all of that you can.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Lord,

Please give our friend strength and peace as he walks through the stress and uncertainty of his wife being in the hospital. Calm his fears, renew his strength, and remind him that he doesn’t have to carry this burden alone. Surround their family with Your comfort, protection, and healing. Help him feel Your presence through every difficult moment.

Amen.

Thinking of you.
