Our berms at the muzzleloading club have been in need of a little repair for some time now. We had a new, young member join, who works for his father's excavation company.
I tell you what, having equipment like this sure beats the heck our of shoveling dirt into and out of a pickup truck.

Darn right I did. 20 something years old, great worker and loads of equipment. We've needed a member like this for a while.

Average age of our membership is in mid to upper 60s.Decent for funding, bad for physical labor.

As the Buildings and Grounds guy (me), this kid is a blessing to have as a member.

That cute machine is very similar to my cats at work. Its Just a few sizes smaller i have 2 more steps to get into the ones at work. Thay are one of my favorite pieces of equipment to run. The ones at the rock quarry last time I was there make the one I run at work look small.

The size he is running would be more handy in a lot of more tight spots. Thats the big problem we have at work.
We need the larger machines for picking and height lifting capacity, but the areas are so tight its hard to move them around. Infact some can't be used (company policy untill its the only machine nott broken down and trucks need loaded. Then its magically ok and aproved) in my area its just to tight .

Looks like he saved the old men a lot of work the berms look great. I absolutely love running equipment. Probably why work didnt seem like a job to me. I always smiled and said. I used to play in the sand box with my tonka trucks now they pay me to play with real ones.

PF, yeah, any bigger and getting it around all the trees on the range would have been very difficult. Still amazing how much dirt that thing can move.

Wolfie, we've had more than one member want to dig the berms for lead. Unfortunately, they don't ever want to put back all the dirt they dig out to get to the lead. So, mining the lead is off limits. It sucks having to babysit a few members who don't like to play nice.

I could tear up a lot of stuff with a tool like that! I have several thousand hours on a front loader but nothing that big!

Lead recovery is why I put sand on my range. I was already shooting into a hill but figured sand would make recovery easier. It washes out with rain. Sadly I dont shoot anything like I use to. So its not as productive as I figured it would be.

I've seen what I can do with a skid steer. That thing would be fun to operate.

Even a good skid steer can git a whole lot done in a few hours with a good hand!
