Apparently not.

Never done it but if I was gonna I’d setup in a pine thicket and cover the floor of the trap with pine needles. Gland lure instead of bait.

Not really a tip but just put them out like you would for a Cat and the Gray Fox will come .

Can't help with greys. Only canines I've caught in cages were two reds and a coyote.

I seem to consistently catch them in poly traps, I think they are so curious about the white box then a sweet bait pulls them in. Have caught them in wire traps but the poly trap really gets them. Bait normally consists of apples, marshmallows or a combination.

Thanks for the replies. Have a few here by the house and I was going to see if I could catch one in a cage this winter.

Put 3 or 4 chicken eggs in the back, don't break them just set them in a clutch. Fox's eye's will do the rest. Had to catch some one summer for CDC, can thank ol Slim for that tidbit of information. They are not the same in summer as they are in winter!

My best tip is don't drink bath water
