It is actually good to see that so far at least 6 Republican Senators are condemning the deal with Russia.

"The Nord Stream pipelines were built to provide a direct connection between Russia and Germany through the Baltic Sea, bypassing traditional transit countries like Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus. This infrastructure allowed Gazprom to double its export capacity to Europe, reduce transit fees, and eliminate political leverage held by intermediary nations over Russian gas supplies."

They shouldnt have invaded Ukraine, and they would still be selling NG to Europe.Just a different way of sanctioning.
Like my Granfather used to say- " all is fair in love and war".

Actually nobody buys stuff from China like you guys, which is all good, but only now does your administration carry on when others do the same.
China doesn't sell bulk energy to Europe though.

Not true whatsoever.

Canada is also rapidly importing Chinese replacement colonizers.

Keith, you are the largest trading partner with China in the world by far.

Nobody said that nobody trades with China, it was simply stated that nobody trades with them like you do. ("You do" meaning on the same scale) You are also the world's number one destination for Chinese investment. That doesn't mean they don't invest elsewhere.

You should have closely read the part where I stated about how your admin now screams blue murder when "others do the same".

You trade more with China percent wise than we do. You also have a larger trade deficit with China than we do.

The Chinese make up only 0.86 percent of the US population. Their percentage in the US is shrinking. The Chinese make up 4.7 percent of the population of Canada. Their percentage of the population is extremely rapidly growing.

You Canadians are so frequently and so very wrong about your demographics and economy, even though your government puts the figures out, it's got to be because your media is so skewed left and is brainwashing you.

The stuff you hear about the Us is even more bent to the left.

You should look at primary sources and stop trusting your leftist media.

You are in grave danger of losing your country to immigration. I don't want to see that happen. It would be bad for us and terrible, possibly fatal for you, who are like us.

You have the largest trade deficit in the world with China at nearly 300 billion Keith, look it up.

That said, I think you are worrying more about a trade deficit than necessary, possibly because you've been coached to the last couple years.

You have a massive one with us, it is growing even despite everything being thrown at it. But does it really matter when it is mostly natural resources that are used to further enrich your nation? I'd say that it really didn't matter that much, we used to buy far more from you then you from us when you remove all of the resources you buy. That didn't matter to us any more than my own personal trade deficit with the hunting/fishing/trapping stores. Now we're looking elsewhere.

How about instead of lame insults, you make a valid argument for once, or ignore me, or be a man and just admit you are wrong yet again?

Your trade deficit is percentage wise larger with China than ours is. Canada has a tiny population. That's why fairly small numbers of imports and small numbers of immigrants, skew things so much in Canada. You have to look at scale.

I'm pretty aware of how scale works Keith, it doesn't mean that your trade deals and trade deficits with China don't exist, it also doesn't mean that your admin doesn't now make deals with China (or Russia for that matter) while scolding others that do.

You want to go on about scale, cool, look at Canada/US trade in terms of scale then to view how bad our trade deal is. Per capita we purchase way more from you than the other way around, way more. If you're going to go all in on that being the metric then I guess we're really awesome trading partners despite what your admin tells you to think. You can't have it both ways on this one.

The media thing is this simple, you hate every media source that doesn't push your preferred narrative and instead find youtube ones that do. Obviously they're the whole truth and nothing but the truth, they must be,

I hate media sources that are untruthful, including the conservative ones, of which there are far to many. I actually watch and read fairly more liberal sources, than conservative. Only experiencing similar viewpoints is exceedingly boring. It doesn't help you develop your thoughts and arguments.

I am conservative on some things and fairly liberal on others. Most people are somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum. The people on both the extreme ends, are irrational and impossible to deal with.

Sounds like we're similar in our approach to media Keith. You assume I'm some lefty liberal media loving guy in your previous post though, I view all sides and forms. I'm glad I grew up with extremely polarized partisan parents, it showed me the light away from the insanity. Thankfully one was right leaning and the other left so i was able to see snippets of truth and goodness in both as well as disastrous failure in both.

But back to the scale of the trade deficit? Does your argument on scale make my point regarding Canada/US trade accurate or does the other scale related info now hold no water? If scale is the true metric I will gladly admit we're more in bed with China but you will have to agree that what your current admin says about as a trading partner is false rhetoric.

Total volume is less of an issue than percentage of trade volume, but both are definitely issues.

Both the US and Canada and the rest of the Western world are in trouble from high volumes of incompatible immigration. Canada being smaller can be changed more quickly by immigration. We can both use immigrants, but only the right ones, who share our values and who are a net positive.

I see both Russia and China as potentially dangerous rivals, but Russia seems very weak right now. China is a bigger danger. As long as their economy is dependent on ours, they likely will never have a physical war with us. They are in a very active information war, to change our values and beliefs, with us.

The US and all other countries need cheap fuel prices to operate at their peak. I see more benefit in getting diesel to the US from Russia, than harm from strengthening Russia's economy and thus their ability to wage more war on Ukraine.

I honestly don't like either Russia or Ukraine.

I think there is a huge advantage to both the US and Canada in being more self sufficient, especially when producing critical products.

Keith
