Got this cold last night....

We had hard frost yesterday. Ponds were steaming so wont see ice just yet.

And here I figured it would be a picture of a glass of cubes bathing in that beavah castah whiskey!

Good hard frost here too…was headed to work wishing I was headed for the tree stand

Had a killing frost here Friday night the ground was so white you would of thought we had a light snow.

Had our first snow here Friday night ??

The dog pool was froze over 2 nights ago here. I'm ready let it happen.

It was supposed to go down to 31F here last night. I spent the last 8 days cutting back a few hundred dahlias, cannas, elephant ears, Amorphophallus konjacs and Saurotum venosums, washing them off and storing them in my house. I don't think we ended up getting any frost. I needed to bring them all in soon anyway. A week or two more of growth wouldn't of mattered much and at least it's done. I up potted strawberries, elderberry, day lilies, hostas and buckeye trees into the empty pots with the dirt I took out.

First ice is when you can stand on it and watch tipups.

Oh ya that's my favorite time of the year.

Late hard frost yesterday. All Annual plants are toast.
If you like Fall foliage color it is a good year here.
A dry trapping season start is forecasted.
