Made some stakes today and said I would show how so here it goes

1: cut rebar (or smooth rod) to length I did 20 inches apiece so I can get 6 stakes from a 10 ft piece of rebar and used a cut off wheel on a grinder to make them.[Linked Image]

2: I took a lugnut and started to thread it on then took a drill with a 13/16 socket and spun it on the rebar [Linked Image]

3: then hammered the nut snug and put a tack weld on the bottom just to hold till the top mushrooms down [Linked Image]

Hopes this helps grin

So... that's 16 dollars to make a dozen stakes that you can buy for 20 from F&T? I'll stick to buying them. (I also have no welding experience)
