My fur washing machine has to be outside now in my new shed. My question is as it gets chilly here which one would be better to make the tub and pump not freeze and not bother or damage the furs.
Both slightly diluted.. winter washer fluid or the RV antifreeze?
Thanks

I wouldn't over think it. You already have power so either plan on at least minimally heating the place as working below freezing will have you cutting then ends off yer own fingers when you're out there skinning.

I just heat my fur shed with a wood stove, and have my fur washer in there.
I have never used antifreeze in it, just always disconnect the water hose.
And never have had a problem, same washer for 16 years now.

Let me sugar coat this

Ya I guess I misspoke/typed. With my new shed, the washer is outside. Shed is heated by woodstove, lighting is by a couple small solar lights. At the moment the washer will stay outside as I had to condense 3 bldgs into one.

Why are you washing fur? are you tanning them?

Not tanning, just washing the muddy ones

I think a lot of guys just tumble fur with corn cobs instead of washing. Might be easier than what you were plannin on doing.

I'll give that a try, I use horse bedding pellets in my tumbler hopefully it'll work the same.
