Just picked a bushel of tomatoes, bunch of bell peppers, and the jalapeños just keep producing too. Once the heat broke and a few rains came, things really came back and have been doing well.

In Washington you will still find tomatoes on the vine, but they have a hard time getting ripe this time of year...they don't.
My dad was into growing tomatoes, he had a way to ripen them. About mid October he'd strip off the leaves, pull the whole plant up by the roots, clean the dirt off, and hang them upside down in a window inside the garage on the south side of the house. Works great, had tomatoes for several weeks after.

I once trapped coyotes for a woman on the coast here who had a heated greenhouse. Tomatoes won't produce here outside of a greenhouse. With heat though she said her tomatoes produced for two years. She had tried keeping then three years but said after two the tomatoes never got any size.

My dad had an old Swedish trick for his annual heated greenhouse. He would did a 4' deep pit, fill it with fresh livestock manure and bedding put a little soil over the top and tamp it down and then pull his 6 X 8 mobile greenhouse over the top. Keeps the unit heated all winter.
