The coons like my bait just fine. But about 2/3 of the traps are pulled out and cleaned out without tripping.

impale a big marshmallow on your trigger. you'll catch them... if its in fact coons doing that. try rubbing a crayon on the trigger to make it a little more sensitive wouldn't hurt either.

Never had a problem with them being pulled out of the ground. Don't know what bait you're using but I do believe this has helped with my catch.

Get yourself some pipe cleaners and cut them in half. [Linked Image]

Wrap around tightly on a screwdriver.

They slide right over the trigger. Easy to make a bunch real quick.

Gives coons something soft and furry to grab ahold of.

Trigger could be wayyy too stiff,,, had this happen as well.. some advice I’m gonna try is to take some wax or a crayon and rub it on the dog and trigger notch

I speed dipped mine. It will coat in between the sides of where the trigger pivots and make it move stiff. I work the trigger back and forth on newly dipped traps. That will loosen it up and make it mover more freely. I have gotten to where I set the dog halfway in the notch on all my DP's.

Thanks for the advice. I've checked the triggers they are not stiff. The dps are waxed. I like the marshmallow idea and the pipe cleaner as well. The ground is very soft from our rain and they don't seem to be very stable.

Get a medical grade sheepskin, The wool is only a 1/2 long. Jam a 2 inch square piece under trigger. Holds scent. Cannot be pulled out without
setting trap off.

Stand with the dp between your feet stomp your right foot heel beside the dp then do the left foot. Should tighten up the soil around the trap. The indentations are a good place to put a little bait as a free sample. Adc's tip about the marshmallows is spot on also. G.
