I'm going to build a table for skinning and streching beaver. I wanted to know what size I should have it and if anyone has dimensions for me.

you can build troughs to skin on, and just use plywood propped up against a wall while stretching

I use a table to skin my beaver. I will say make sure you make any table high enough. I make mine to hit me above the belt buckle. You do not want to be bending over to skin.





One of the best beaver table I have ever seen was made from a lazy susan with a table top on it. You could turn the beaver any way you need.

I bought around table from a cheap 2nd hand store and then put the swivel from a bar stool into the equation. Should have done it years ago. Sweet!

I use a trough sitting on a 1/2 sheet of plywood that's on another 1/2 sheet of plywood (these are my beaver stretcher boards) this all sits on some sawhorses. They will turn if needed...but I can get to all sides this way, so no turning needed.

Try using half of a kitchen table, mounted to the wall with hinges and a single leg on the bottom. This way it folds up against the wall when not in use, the top is formica(SP) and cleans up well, and stores out of the way. With this set up you can also put a large wash tub under it if you gut the beaver to sell the meat/parts. You can get a cheap table at a garage sale and split the cost with a buddy.

This one is made out of scrape metal I had laying around and is waist high for me.



My sizing table is on a lazy susan and will fold up against the wall. I'll size the pelt and then change it over to a hoop.

I used to have a set up like chicken describes; but I found it so much more effiecient to bring the beaver to me (than walking around to the other side of the table), with one quick flick of the wrist. I have both my tacking out table and my skinning trough on swivels now and it has taken minutes off my total skin-put up time.

Good table for beaver and cheap to build.
