Wood is a good dry heat. Propane gives of water vapor.

Go to the Mother Earth site and look at that waste oil heater they have. Looks good to me and no chopping.

I bought a small pellet stove thats made for use in a tent cost 275 heats my 20 by 24 shed great even on the coldest winter days can get it hot enough to just have a T shirt on.
P.S also has a small oven built in for cooking up those quick meals between work.

I got a 220V electric baseboard heater (5' long) for my shed and I can regulate the temp perfectly and it is a good dry heat with no possiblility of carbon monoxide poisoning. Not to mention, it is maintenance free and cheap running! The heated area of my fur shed is 12' X 16' so it's not a huge area. I originally wired it for 2 heaters but one is plenty in my well insulated shed.

My bad, I didn't see your lack of electricity problem. I could not live without electricity in my shed. Lights, heat, electric stapler, radio, etc.. You need to run a wire!!!!

possomslayer. how hard was it to make the barel conversion? Not too hard. With th kit you just cut the holes for the door and chimney. I am not sure if the kits require welding or if they bolt in. I made my own so it is a little more work. Pretty easy though.
