Looks good, Ya might have cut the front legs off a little short. Not bad at all for a first time. Coon are much easier to flesh than beavers. Keep up the good work.

I worked in a fur duyers place I would rather scrap a hundred coon then 10 beaver any day. The coon looks real good for your first one. Keep up the good work.

Nice work! It's better to learn how to do it right while the coon are low in price, than when they are big money. Looks good to me.

I'm with you don, I rushed through a coon toward the end the other night and had a couple of fat deposits left on the dang thing! Another reason to make sure you do not have to hurry when finishing fur..

I tend to agree with Don. However, put a fan on the hide and I suspect the fat will dry off. Unless I'm not seeing somethig I really dont see any thick deposits of fat that will burn the leather. For your first coon you did well. Take the advise of those like Don.

I also clean skin beaver, why would you not do it , putting up beaver is more fun than a coon, you did a good job on the coon, you can stiil get the fat off .

looks fine. time will tell. once the hide is dry it will be real easy to see where there is extra fat if there is any. i trim my leg holes flush then pull the skin together and staple (pin). fha does not want long legs. they could catch when handling and tear.
