You make a valid point. But out in "The Country" paying for what you need might be a whole lot safer than taking what you want. Lots of other weapons in country folks hands in the U.S. rural areas (where people will probably survive with something to barter/trade) And, not to be trite, but dying isn't a good plan. Anyway, I doubt it will get to that without a major catastrophe.

I laugh at the guns and ammo arguement.

I would guess the average rural gold and silver bug most likely is well stocked in the ammo department.

Depends how much you are trying to move. Don't expect more than spot & feel lucky to get that. Here in Berks County, I can buy all I want for $2 over spot. Those same dealers will pay spot. A few years back I was offered more than spot for pre 1965 half dollars. That offer came with a 1099. I can no longer wholesale above spot.

So go to your local coin shop and hold out for spot. If they want to give you a 1099 go to a different shop.

I can get 90 percent quarters for a dollar over melt from the local guy.

I sold a bunch last fall at melt.

It all depends on the market and availablity.

Today if i had to sell, and selling peer to peer I would offer it for 2 bucks over melt and take melt.
