I think the advantage of silver is the amount of ounces you’re dealing with when the price goes higher vs how much gold an average guy could own. It seems buying precious metals is easier than selling it.

wow you mean it's finally above what I paid for mine. close to 7 years ago. I think I bought it a 23 but it was closer to 27 with premium. now these is not long after it was near 50. it went lower and stayed there a while
It's been a very poor preforming investment that money in the markets would be up way more. but that is not why I bought it. I wanted something in my hand that would always have value.
If it is what you want buy it. The economy Is not doing as well as they act. Today's head lines Indiana truck trailer manufacturer shutting down, John deere laying off another 300, and it continues... For some reason it's just not highlighted these days. it's surprising it's reported on at all.
If you want it to have and are OK with very slow growth or even losses but want piece of mind of having it jump on it.

20 ounces of gold ($50,000) will fit into the palm of your hand. $50,000 worth of silver weighs 114 pounds. Which would you rather have during a real crisis? In a real crisis I'm staying right here. My family and community will need us.

If they were all 1 oz pieces that means I'd have 114 x16 =1824 piece of silver to trade with. With gold I'd only have 20 pieces of gold to trade with. Which would you rather have?

If it ever comes to a true barter situation 1 oz silver won't be as useful as junk silver US coins IMHO. If it comes to the point where ammo is more valuable we are all in trouble. Only to 30 percent are going to make it. Maybe.

Making change in a dark alley might be enhanced with a little lead. I still remember a story about an old woman near here that was was getting sugar on the black market in WW2. She buried a half-gallon jar of sugar by each fence post along the road. After the war was over and things were booming they decided to clean out the road ditches and posts. She was out there with her shotgun trying to stop the grader. That resulted in the sheriff coming out and taking her shotgun and her sugar was spread all up and down the right-of- way.
