Do this ^^

Take a towel and get it good and wet with warm/hot water then wring out all the water you can. Wrap it in the towel and in fifteen minutes it should come right off. Or if you don't have warm water available you can do as beaverpeeler says, but if you use warm/hot water it absorbs it a lot faster and limbers up a lot faster. Doesn't take long at all.

I've done this to get stubborn hides off stretchers a few times, and routinely do this turning hides.

Can you blame it on the cat somehow?

For awhile there, the board would've been worth more than the hide

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Thank you coonman, was thinking about this thread when I double checked some coon I boarded this morning. Sure enough one was missing a belly board. You saved me some trouble in a few days.

Just wrap the damp towel around the neck area where it tapers. That’s where they stick.

If it is damp enough, you should be able to tug it off. It won't just fall off, but with a little coaxing, you will get it. You can add water to your towel, don't worry. You just don't want it dripping wet.
