Before calling MTP and potentially looking like a dummy… are the bridger 330 magnums supposed to have zero gap… like a belisle? Or do they still have a little bit of a gap?
I was expecting a trap with zero gap.
I got my order from MTP and the bridger magnum didn’t look much different than a duke as far as the gap goes.

I got my bridgers a long time ago. So they're old
I think the "magnum" word is just a new form of advertising because of their small spring eyes.
Ive caught some beaver by the tails in my old Bridger 330's and they do have a little gap but not much.
Not sure if I answered your question but thats all I got lol

The dog is what’s holding you back. Those round dogs are going to cause a little bit of a gap even with the tightest closing conibear. No way around it, unless you put Belisle dogs on them

Gotta live up to the nickname...

This right here. Just got done working on a couple. The dog keeps from complete closure on one side.

I've never understood the desire for a no gap bodygrip, 330s in particular. I prefer a gap so I can maybe pull my fingers out if I get caught. Not like it isn't going to hold anything your targeting with a 330 anyways.

Bridger 330 magnums are the worst trap I have ever owned.

Good luck once you get a catch, John. If it is still an option, I'd return them and get Belisles. I tried to go cheap just like you. Wish I could still return mine. frown

Gotta find a way, a better way, I'd better wait

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

Lot of extra beaver and muskrat come home with us that use full closer body grips. Sometimes the beaver don't follow directions and do weird stuff to set off the trap . Muskrats can slip between the jaws when the close and the tails get smacked but with a magnum trap, you have a muskrat instead of an empty trap.

FYI....MTP has re-designed their line of bodygrippers as of 2026...call for more info.
And they have increased spring eye design and improved trigger dog.

I’ve never used any of their 330s before.
The first 110s I ever had were bridgers ,, got them in 87.. I believe.
