You never knew anyone that had or died of cirrhosis, Savell? I did one. Drank his liver to death. His skin started turning yellow. He was younger than me when it happened and that was nearly 10 years ago. He went on dialysis. They said he had less than 6 months to live if he did not get a transplant. Messed up deal... once he got diagnosed to die, his wife ran off and left him for another woman! And I sort of lost touch with both of them at that point. BUT a couple years later, I heard he was alive and involved with a different woman, and apparently healthy so I can only assume he must have gotten the transplant.
Unlike Keith though, I guess I was a slow learner, lol.
I still drink, but not much. I would drink more if I didn't prefer spending money on other things more.
My youngest brother actually wrote a book on wine and was the national beverage manager for a hotel chain and then later a national restaurant chain that owns 5 upscale brands. He created a new bar based restaurant for them. He then managed the number one bar/pub/restaurant in Ohio. He's a master sommelier.
I don't think there's anything wrong with most people drinking. In some people though, like Leroy and Rick, the first sip of alcohol is like flipping a switch leading to total destruction.
Angela do you remember the smell of that man you knew who had cirrhosis? Both Leroy and Rick both had about the worst smell I've ever smelled when they got it. The smell was even worse than the yellow skin and yellow bloodshot eyes.
Leroy was a red headed white guy. Savell reminds me a lot of him from his personality that I catch here, which is why I like him. Leroy was a lot of fun when he was sober or just starting to drink.
