I used to process deer and so part of that of course is developing relationships with customers that I would see ever year, a bunch of really great people that it would be fun just to hang around with. Getting to know some of these people and groups was really one of the upsides to the job. Getting to know who was who and hearing the stories was like being part of the group and them stopping to drop off their animals with me was being part of the hunting ritual. So I had a trio of guys that hunted together ever year, Dad, Son and Grandson. Grandson was close to 20, so it gives an idea of the age of these guys. They show up one fall, Grandson comes almost bursting in the door followed by the other two. You could tell right away, the way these guys are acting, something was out of the ordinary.
So the Son was sitting on a lawn chair, watching two good trails and the intersection when he sees this buck coming down one of these trails. The more this buck comes into view, the more he is starting to realize the size and scope of this buck. Apparently this thing is MASSIVE! How big? No idea. But the Son was reduced to a quivering mess, he wet himself(this part is true, he swore to me himself that he (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) all over himself) and the buck just kept walking, never to be seen again. Now understand, these guys aren`t pro hunters, but they left the rookie category behind decades ago. It sure would have been neat to see that deer.
