Lots of good info here. do a search within the last 6 months.
I just use regular cage traps mostly. 7x7 or 7x9's or a coon size if those are already out. i do have a few of those "skunk tube traps" that are 6 inch diameter. I have used them a ffew times but I need more of them to be able to use them exclusively on skunks. Drifting them is a great option. I use 2 2x6's to try to drift them. Place in front of den and lead them to the trap. I use jameson's trailing scent, and lure, and I use "nosy". I have also used sfe and natural fermented egg. You can also not give them a choice by sealing up every way in or out except your cage trap.

The best trap you can buy for skunks is a tube trap or a plastic enclosed trap ,that i thinks is called a poly catch...Cavens have them ????
......With that said this is what I do....
..I use a "normal" 10x12x30 cage with black plastic wrapped around the cage and duct tape......open in the front and back
....I use a trailing scent sometimes....sometimes not,,,,(Jameson Blend sell some.... also Wolf River) or you can experiment.....Some people use mini marshmallow in conjunction with the trailing lure....Scent or bait in the cage..On large marshmallows.....Some suspend the bait....some just put it is the back of the cage
.....Best tip I can give you is to set the cage in there (skunks)path if you can find it,,,,,I use guide boards were I can to funnel them into the trap...
......There is usually more than one skunk....

yes they can and do spray. for dispatch I use a co2 chamber.
NO drowning! bad PR!
the vets used co2 before they had injectable death.
