Snares are one time use items in most cases. Do the math on 3 doz. snares compared to the cost of a good cage trap.Snares are a more expensive tool over time of use. A good cage trap is reusable for potentially hundreds of captures and will pay for itself many times over with reasonable maintenance.If you make your own snares you save a little over retail purchases and some $$ if you can use the locks and swivels over again.

For use in most of our ADC work scenarios snares would not be acceptable. They allow too much animal movement, potential entanglement opportunities and damage to landscape areas, lattice etc. when snared. Also the attention they can bring to concerned kids,family dogs torture toy, customers, passerbys or playing tug of war with a den snared hog.

Just not a good tool choice for our use in most domestic settings from my experience of 40 years.Been there done all of that before most knew what ADC was all about.For rural located homes and farm use there are more options for snare use and no concern for dispatching animals if needed in front of nosey individuals.
