Got my first ADC job and was wondering how much I should charge to remove a few squirrels and some chipmunks in a tree and in the yard?

Well how far is it from you? You should already have an idea of what it will cost. What is your time worth? How many squirrels and chippy's do you have to remove?
I do a set up fee and per animal charge. Thats my fur trapper mentality. I like it that way and so do my customers.

Yeah Joe, I agree, those darn chippys never stay in the trees where they belong!

I charge a set up fee and a per animal fee based on how far the job is from you also i charge a daily trap check that is only applied if an animal is not caught also on your per animal fee it will cost you more to relocalte each animal and i build that into my per animal fee. Remeber you have bait to pay for your insurance ware and tare on your truck fuel and your time.

muskrattrapper28, pretty much everyone under prices their first job. The experience will be far more valuable than any money you make.

Do it for gas money and your time. $10/$20/$30/per hour. Whatever you think they will pay.

I would go 250 for 7 days and that's if its on my reg route . Always get your money up front . If they say know way I don't trust you that just means they plan to rip you off . Just like the girlfriend that's always saying your cheating on her , that's just means she feels guilty about something

Pesky, some of the guys that have been watching your clips seem to think that you might go a little more than 250.

When professionalism and work is great, there is no need for money up front. Less than 2% go to collections.

I don't pay tradesmen up front so I would never ask that of my customers. You get paid when the job is done.

If it's a large job, maybe two grand and up, I can see half the money up front for materials but the remainder is held until the job is completed to the customers satisfaction.

I agree. It sounds like you're saying to the costomer: I think you're probably a dead beat so I want my money up front before I do anything." I have never payed any pumber, electrician, machanic, or any tradsman before he finished the job. *If one of them told me "oh,by the wAY, I want my money before I start your job." I would have to tell him to take a hike!

It makes sence to get something up front if you can. To hold a spot on the calender it takes money. That keeps people from getting twitchey and finding someone else when you already told them about the baby bats.

Nothing wrong with getting a deposit down or a % before a large $$ job is started.

Flat rate trapping I get it up front . There getting a great deal over paying per animal . Works good for me to as I just plan it right into the route . I'm not saying I don't trust them . I'm saying you want that great deal I get payed up front . Things get real simple after that . no phone calls no meeting up at some set time ect . If they want to pay later they can hire the other guy . I have no problem with that and hope all goes well . I don't take credit cards ether . There's other company's that do . I dont wish to be like the other guy . Theres like 62 company's last time I checked so people can hire one of them if they wish . There ways might work better for some mine others . I'm not saying my way is the right way its just different . The way I see it , if there were ten white trucks for sale and one camo one I'm sure that camo one would sell before all ten white ones would . No tricks here you got chipmunks over coming your landscape it's 250.00 to keep three or four traps working for seven days and I get that up front . Repairs I charge after there done and approved . People are told this right away and are free to shop around . If its a pay per animal I charge my service call up front and that includes one animal . Any more animals or repairs I charge that after I'm done . Ive tried it all differnt kinds of ways and that' seems to work best for me .

I think the majority of you are nuts, but at least you've probably given me something more to write in WCT! ( And by the way, THANKS! )
