There are many aspects that go into the consistent Capture of Squirrels, One of the aspects that is many times not thought of is plain outright Visual curiosity.

Circulating oder and a hanging bait that the animal must dance on the pan to get are all important, but the Power of White- especially in the dark I believe allows for many many more captures

Just wondering How many of you use Visual for Squirrels?

Unless setting a positive set, I always use the ketchup cups or small paper cupcake holders.

I wonder if there will be enough coffee and middle fingers to make it through the day.

Not much can beat a cut 3" inch piece of corn on the cob skewered thru the pith center with a piece of wire placed elevated in the rear of the trap. Visual, curiosity and food enticement all in one. When used with a proven bait and lure you have an irrestible set up from my experience. This will catch any rodent from tree dwellers to ground dwellers including rats.

Of course this set up must be placed on location as is with all trapping to be productive.

Black also causes Grey squirrels to check it out. and keeps the birds from thinking it is a piece of bread.

So I'm thinking a black and white Rubic's cube hanging from the back of my squirrel cages?

Many Greys are caught in low light conditions ,Jonesie and I'm just offering up a tip... an Idea, a suggestion... If its not your belief that dosent' make it wrong. and no not at night, but most attics are not Lit.

and SGS the white hanging bait cup is the attactant, you don't want the cage itself to stand out, Same as any trapping right?

I agree. In the picture it looks like the trap is painted white. Probably just hasn't been dipped yet.

More and more of my cages are getting dipped a dark brown. I don't know if they actually catch better but it makes me feel better. lol

You're Right SGS the one at the Top of the post does look undipped, its one of the Cages that LT Grey sprayed for me while he was a my Home quite a while ago. I do really like the Golden Brown of Formula 1 Dip/dye.

Here's a better pictue showing a Dye'd trap and a baited white bait basket in the upper baited trap.

This is an embarrassment to the pest control industry. It is what a big named, well-known pest control company set out to catch a squirrel. This is what our operator found today near Shreveport LA

FYI Job Security for many of us. Apparently some companies have taken to the power of white as a bait cup & then try use glue to catch a squirrel. I wish I was making this up.

Don't try this technique yourself unless you want us to come behind you and post it !!

The old magic make it yourself glue board with an aerosol cap for the bait.

Thanks, Jonesie... I meant the extra eye appeal that is visible through the cages in a low light environment like an Attic.
