Welcome...but be warned...every trapper thinks they are the best. It seems to go with the territory. How do our peers judge who is best?

Generally speaking, a slightly higher level of proffesional behavior on this side of the board.

Since no one else warned you; there are certain people on this site that you cannot, under any circumstances, take seriously. The two that come to mind immediately are Vinke and me!

P.S. If you have any questions about anyone else, refer those questions to either Vinke or me.

I raised my Kid's to KNOW, I know EVERYTHING, and if I don't know it, it DOESN'T MATTER! So I MUST be the GREATEST EVER. Just ask Vinke or Winkleman, oh wait, they don't know what I know. LOL.

If I give advice, it is what I have found, to be the best way. MOST of the time, others agree, so I am really just reinforcing what others say.

Welcome, sorry I haven't offered my welcome earlier but I saw how bad your first thread got treated and I kind of stayed away. Don't let that discourage you. wade right in and give as good as you get. JMO but the fairer sex brings special skills to ADC work and have been some of the greatest NWCOs I've known.

Glad you're still here posting Mousie . I for one believe a trapper with 2 days experience can help teach a trapper with one day how to act on the 2nd day. lol. You obviously have an ability to roll with lifes punches and we could all learn from you about that.So don't be a stranger....I'm new at ADC work too.

Yeah, welcome Mousie. If you have any questions at all, I'll turn the computer over to my daughter, Stacy. She's caught everything I have and now she works a lot in the office. To say that she knows way more about the ADC business than I do, would only be telling the truth. ( Do you have any idea of how much it hurt to say that? )

Mousie, I'm serious when I say the best I've ever known in this field was a tiny little ninety pound wonder. She won't amaze you with biology or her trapping skills but she could flat out sell the work. Though since she didn't do ladders she was the best at catching squirrels on the ground and on fences and decks, she adapted and did what she had to do.

She could say things to the wives who are the ones who call us that I'd be shot for and I've seen her back down the biggest of men who doubted her.

More than once when she heard the wife say "the husband said he'd take care of that" I've heard reply "Well, when is he going to get off his lazy arse and do it".
I've heard her tell a wife when the wife recounts some reason the husband can't, He's a P---y" and then go grab the snake or bat or whatever it was he was afraid of.
Just plain blunt talking and connecting with the wives that call us plus a genuine concern for her people made her the best I've known. She's been retired nearly five years now and I gained a good many of her people and still to this day am asked about her.

I had one old guy that was practically in tears when I showed up instead of my daughter. ( Of course, now I'm that old guy and I guess I would cry too )

Howdy Mousie nice to have you here. There is alot of experience shared collectively here with our select group. Its always a positive thing when we have young men and women taking an interest in our field.

You have a top notch mentor with many skills at your side to teach and guide you in the ways of many things if you are willing to learn. The best to you..
