My pre-exposure shots cost $65 but that was more than 20 years ago. My son's post-exposure shots were $4500. Talk about inflation!

If you're a Veteran, the shots can be had from the VAMC for no or little cost depending on your status. Got mine free, and same for the annual Titer test check. If they balk, tell them you handle wild animals nad "NEED" the shots, and/or see the patients advocate.

All Vet needs to be registered in the VA system, as they get their funding by the number of Vets in the system, which is good anywhere in the world. A dental program is also in the works.
Any Registered Vet is Exempt from the wetblack's health care BS.
You may not need it now, but someday.....

I got mine from Concentra near the Atlanta airport. Did a lot research and could not get it at hospital, doc office, health dept etc. It cost nearly $900 but insurance paid for it.

Big Bob, you are one of the few people that seem to know something about the Veteran's Administration. I have had a number of customers that have told me to go to the VA for various ailments. As a matter of fact, some of those customers work at the VA.

My thought has always been that a veteran was at least on duty while we were fighting a war or at best was overseas during a foreign war. They now claim that anyone that was given an honorable discharge from a military service is qualified. Are they right?

Boogerman, Here it is straight up...If your a Vet, (and I don't mean animal doctor) you can get them free or for a very very low cost...if not go to your primary doc. get the script for the shots and buy them a Wal-Mart and keep them refrigerated until your primary Doc. can administer the shots (3)....And I knew all that without my PROFESSIONAL UNIFORM on ! Vacine @ Wally world is around 600 smackers..

There is a news brief in the December 2013 NRA American Hunter magazine about four organ recipients that contacted rabies. The donor was described as an outdoorsman and trapper. He contracted rabies from a raccoon shortly before his death so it wasn't detected. One of the organ recipients died, the others recovered. It never did say what state, did anybody here this story in their area?
