You need to give more details about your Canada goose problem.

It isn't Canadian Geese. It's Canada geese.
The former would indicate it was named after the COUNTRY, which is was NOT!
They were named after John Canada, hence the name.
Please get it right when you're a wildlife professional.
It's your job to know more than the people you work for!

Careful LT. That is the sort of thing that I've personally seen biologists get too far into their cups and come to blows over. Whether it is because of an obscure ornithologist or because of the semantics of using an attributive noun in place of an adjective, they are "Canada Geese". Canada geese fly over and they go "honk, honk", while Canadian geese fly over and go "eh, eh". My personal theory is that if there was in fact a John Canada, why wouldn't it be Canada's goose? As in "Clark's Nuthatch" or "Townsend's Big Eared Bat" etc.

You should have never told me to "look it up". John Canada appears to be an urban legend. There are the Greater Canada geese that have probably never touched down on Canadian soil and were thought to be extinct until a good sized flock of them were found in Minnesota in the 50's. It made the front page of a lot of newspapers.

These Greater Canadas are the reason we have so many problems with them now. These are non-migrating geese and they are huge in comparison to the normal migrating Canada goose. They are also at least twice as dumb and not near as good tasting. I can kill more Greater Canadians with my car than I could ever shoot the real Canadians with a gun.

In other words, "I hate these geeses to pieces."
