Wow very impressive JR!
Can't believe the temps you guys up there have to endure...
I appreciate your advise on the traps. I will let you know how they end up smelling after the coat job.
70 miles just to get to your cabin in hard to imagine.
Thanks again and cant wait to see what you end up with after your next catch.

Ak - That's the kind of country keeps a man young and feeling alive

I used my Kifaru for base camp while building my cabin last winter. Only problem was I ripped the base when I had a heavy snow fall and melt while I was gone for a few days. The ice tore my tent. They also don't hold heat so you have to keep the fire going steady

I bet you don't have much of a mouse problem with that bloodthirsty little hooligan hanging around your cabin.

Had a pretty good trip on the line this past week. Picked up some fur for the stretchers, found 3 moose sheds, got some more wolf gear lain and make it home safe. Picked up this 102# black male in a #9 pee post. Expected to pick a few more in the area but the wind seemed to cover most of the trail and traps in a foot and a half rock hard drift.

Hauled out a pretty heavy load this trip and the Tundra did well.
The wolves came right up to the cabin snooping around. They sure are belligerent this year.
Caught a 24# male lynx in the Catch-all set. Here's the catch and the remake.

Picked two more wolves up river and missed a few more. 86# gray male and 76# gray female

Picked up a couple more moose antlers which will help pay for the new windshield the Tundra needs.

Pee Post Pass didn't produce this trip but narrowly missing.
Squirrels and porkys didn't like my sign I guess

Here's the 102# black male next to the 198# trapper Picked up this 40# male wolverine on the way home in a #9 Pee Post. Well furred with a busted up leg from that 9. Nothing that cannot be fixed.

Thats a nice haul, and great pics. That mountain country is just beautiful and a triple on wolves! Still have the Skandic, and is that
the stock tundra windshield?
Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the critters, and nice haul. That country is beautiful. You are a lucky fella to be there. Nothing comes easy for sure. That is a awesome way to catch them Wolves. We haven't had much snow here where I live all winter. We are getting quite a bit now. Been trying to set a few foot sets out and it is a pain cleaning them off all the time. Cannot imagine trying to do that on all you set . Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics from your neck of the woods. Good luck.

Thanks guys, Enjoyed participating as much as sharing with ya.

Tundra300... That is not the stock windshield. It is the tallest one I could get from BRP and the same one I put on my Scandic WT. Great windshield, got a little brittle at -20 and I was going places I probably shouldn't have. I wouldn't mind replacing one every year but that's about it.

Takotna... The wolves were all in packs. The black male is from a new pack I'm playing with this winter with 11 blacks and 2 grays, now 10 blacks, in a new area.

AK TRAPR... The Tundra is tippy as people say it is buy very manageable compared to my WT in the mountains. I can high side the Tundra in the hills where the WT kinda goes where it wants too. I'm not a very fast traveler for the most part and that's where I think you can get in trouble with the tippyness. They are notorious for darting or catching an edge and dumping you on your face when not expecting it. That's when ya end up on the ice with your nose as a rudder, kinda like I did last year on the overflow. I do hang on a little tighter to this machine. I'm sure I'll relax or get complacent nand end up upside down sooner or later. The thing I like about this one is I can manhandle it where the WT was a heavy beast in the mountains.
