Now ya tell me!....and all these years Ive been hacking away with a tile spade, and make the ditch fit the trap...LOL...and all along I coulda just turned the durn trap!...looks like you went the brain over braun option, and I went other way, LOL
Good tip Scott
I like a cable that quick detaches at the trap too like you use...I use a snap link at end of cable, and a no 6 mini swivel ferruled to end of cable, a 1/4 snap link just fits thru the eye...I thread 2 twist loop chain links onto spring eye, and it also gives a good trap tag anchor point on a trap devoid of all chain or cable

Rich, I put the first of these Stands together several years ago after Using Stacked 33o's in deep channels for over 25 years... and had hopes of getting a friend to help me make a Deep channel Video Featuring the benefits of vertical 660+'s ... ***and just so Everyone young on here knows... Rich Kaspar first invented the 660 trap and Sells the kits to make your traps into 660s.
I call mine 660+'s because I use Belisles and sometimes make them up to 29 inches.

Ive made some of them Besliles over the years too, usually for some ADC customers.......myself Im too clumsy for em and they make my thumb HURT too much..LOL...for about 6 weeks
I made a doz 14" wide besliles for a state adc guy once, he wanted a tight nearly normal sized trap that wouldnt bend over time, also made a flay laying dog on them like the stock beslile dogs, with super heavy 3/16 triggers...that was a heck of a trap!
I remember you was one of the first guys to take a chance on those 660s year ago, and prolly have as much experience as anyone over the years Scott, and would be the perfect guy to make a 660 DVD, go for it should you ever want to Scott!
I always reffered to them as 660 FB's----like as in Finger Breakers, LOL
Scott, have you ever caught 2 beavers in one 660? Ive managed to do it twice over the years, in the spring usually in a side ditch connected to a river when the beaver are going nuts......twice Ive had a sprung 660 (any Im sure you know how rare THAT is), and looking around a little, had dead rat close by...usually they catch them, and prolly 10-15 mink over the years too

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Scott,I bet you dont get many fired traps either do ya.....prolly get some tail/foot catches? I definatly see some extra catches in those 660+ youve got.....and no doubt a level in performance better no doubt....I kinda set rough and quick, and gets to be a bit more finesse than Im accustomed to, to keep my fingers intact....they do seem a bit "hairyer" to work with as theyve got a fair amount more spring tension in set position, which seems to make a more nimble trigger tension, and Ive no doubt the tension and tighter jaws give a higher overall catch rate.....Im just too much a bull in a china cabinet setting traps..LOL On twin catches, I had 2 yearlings like your pic, although they were a little bigger in late spring my area, the 2nd one was an xl-lr 2 year old on the large size, and a ave adult for the 2nd one....still had enough jaw left to squeeze a pup in , LOL? I get alot of Beaver Plus stick at dam sets......reg 330s i just get the stick most of time....these days maybe the stick is the "keeper" of the 2...LOL like your rat pic, almost "de-guts" them dont they......usually Ill see a sprung trap w/o a catch, and ready cuzz a little, and closer looksee usually its a rat catch.......Im gonna say, if I dont set a lot of high current/high debris sets, Im prolly running close to 90% sprung traps/catches, educated guess....Id about guess your pushing pretty close to 100% catch rates? I might be a little wet on my catch rates in all honesty....as its been a few years since Ive done a lot of beaver trapping, and time always seems to makes things a little better than reality Ill confess....everything always seems, better, bigger, more fun, and less wet and cold ...that what the brain wants to tell ya....curious what you think your more receint in memoiry catch rates run?

You are Right Rich... With the 660's in the 22" and the 26 to 29" I have made (Mostly from your Kits for the Trigger and Dog) I have found almost No sprung Traps. I Even caught Just a large inside portion of a beavers Castor in the 660. And had to work hard to finish that ADC job on a spooked (no doubt) beaver that was swimming around with only One Gland left. I posted that picture on here, no one had ever had that happen to them and many suggested that someone was playing a joke on me by putting that large gland into my trap. A wile later I had pulled all Bodygrip traps from this Creek line, left the beaver to calm down and came back a couple weeks later to Nab 2 remaining adults: lo and behold one of them upon skinning had only ONE Castor gland. It had been caught I believe setting off that 660 and was nabbed by the hind squeezed out of the trap leaving part of the beaver with the trap. Skeptics aside here is the actual photo. ![](http://www.trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2016/03/full-1790-326496-beaver_one_castor.jpg)
