Panic attacks are horrible. I've had them for years. I've been on all sorts of medications, some helped, some didn't, most made me feel like a zombie. I still take Xanax when I feel something coming on or have to do something that will likely bring one on. My biggest trigger is traveling. I can't get more than about an hour from home without freaking out. I haven't been that far from home in about 5 years. I get the rapid pulse, shortness of air, sweaty palms and just feeling that I can't stay where I am any longer. Going home is the only thing that helps. Sometimes I have them when I am home, then NOTHING helps. I've been through several different kinds of therapy, some helped to some degree, but I still have the problem. I'm thinking of trying hypnosis next.
