Cheap dry cat food. You don't need to blend the trap. I catch them around my chickens. I have caught them in the wire traps and in skunk traps. If you have mink it shouldn't be a problem.

X2 there not hard to catch in cages I have lost count of how many have ended up caught around the farm in protecting livestock when not wanting to chance harm to other animals around the place

A friend of mine used to raise bobwhite quail and chuckars. Used live cages for mink that would get into pens. Just hung the head of a chicken or quail in the back of the trap and covered it with cloth except the entrance. Caught several mink over many years using the method.

They go right in a cage,no problem at all,no different than a mink box with a 120 . I cover the cage with a chunk of canvas,or an old piece of carpet. .

I've caught some mink in colony cages set for muskrats. So they will enter smaller sized cages, 5 x 5 to 7 x 7 inches. Dennis

There is a man in Ireland that places the cage in a pocket set buried under the ground. He uses no bait its just a pocket of curiosity.
You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

What would you guys consider to be about the right size? A chippie or squirrel sized trap? Or something slightly bigger than a squirrel sized one?
