May be something you could bring up with the GA Trappers Association. I know you have some qualified instructors down there.
The NC Trappers Association used to offer a 3 day class but not enough folks signed up to be able to make it happen every year. But we continued to get requests for a more hands on approach than our Basic classes through our Wildlife Resources Commission.
To try to bridge that gap, we have started doing single subject, one day classes at various locations in NC and they have been well received. Last year we offered both Coyote Workshops and Beaver Workshops. This year we are offering Coyote Workshops and a Fur Handling Workshop. These classes typically run from 8 to 5 on a Saturday and include hands on instruction on a trap line or fur shed for the Fur Handling.

If I was looking for trapping instruction in the South East I am thinking I would do what I could do to talk Matt Jones into giving instructions. He would be awesome to learn from. I do not think Clint Locklear currently gives instructions but he darn sure would a good choice. John Pringley out of Virginia (I think) would be another good instructor in my opinion. Don't know if Rusty Johnson gives private instructions but he too would be a good choice.
Somebody else I would give consideration is Mark Zagger. (Coyote U) He is in the North East but I believe his methods, theories, and hard charging attitude would serve him or any of his students any where in the country. He has a in-depth school that he runs a couple times a year in NY. I have a lot of respect for the Western trappers and schools but Mark's school would make more sense to me if I were in the South East and was looking to learn coyotes.
Good luck to you. Mac

Sir get on Face Book and join the group Down South Trappers, based in Georgia, seems to be alot of knowledgeable trappers on that site. I,m sure one of those could lead you in the right direction. Matt Jones would be a great instructor, he's on Face Book too.

Join the Georgia trappers association and get involved as QBD mentioned, we here in Montana have one of the premier education programs in the U.S. which I was a part of for many years that I'm very proud of that fact. I'd be willing to bet they also have a educational system in place and new members should always be a welcome addition. Allan

You might check with Doug Massey. He goes by Doug66 on here. I don't know if he gives instruction but he might and he is a Great multispecies trapper that lives in Georgia. ^^This^^

If Doug 66 would teach you he would be one of the "best" I would recommend X100, I'd pay just to sit and drink coffee with Doug..
