My daughter is the head cook at the catholic school and my grandkids go there. My understanding is the students there are educated for about 50% less than the public school. Yea free labor LOL

This only proves government waste Of course incarceration cost more than education. No brainer The question is will paying teachers more benefit the students ? I know some will answer yes Do we have proof of that ?

How many inner city kids go to that catholic school?
Any busing?
Many special needs kids?
Is it self-sustaining or subsidized by the church?

I know some will answer yes Do we have proof of that ? Prisons cost more because theyre country clubs rather than punishment facilities. Did you know solitary confinement has been banned because prisoners complained? In NE, at least.

So what this education major is saying is Oklahoma gets more criminals than well educated children because they pay more for criminals? I guess she could be saying since Oklahoma pays so little for teachers this is how you ended up with me?

I'm so tired of seeing and hearing this... Yes we spend more on inmates than school kids. School kids aren't held under lock and key 24/7. Schools aren't on the hook for each and every student's medical costs. Hyperbole is more likely to turn me against a position than for it. Mike

Anything subsidized, ya get more of. Criminals included. No class of people escape that fact. In that case you'd think we'd be overrun with farmers.

My daughter is the head cook at the catholic school and my grandkids go there. My understanding is the students there are educated for about 50% less than the public school. This is most likely very true, but if like Oklahoma, private teacher pay in OK is 1/2-2/3 of a public school teacher, and no benefits other than some retirement of some kind of the teacher's choice. So they are able to run on a much smaller budget with greater results. But!!! The teacher knows the salary(just as a public school teacher) when they sign the contract, and the perks of that private environment are worth it.

So you fellows who went through this consolidation to save money business, I would be interested to know how much they cut your property taxes with all this saved money? Thanks!

Now that's funny stuff right there. Probably raised taxes to add onto the school to accomadate more kids. And I bet the administration got raises due to more kids. It's why they push for it so hard. Teachers salaries probably stayed the same.

consolidation costs more. just like I said it would at all the meetings I attended. now the story is they cant afford to put everything back. time to privatize education. this government thing just aint working
