Hey all I’ve got someone asking me to trap a porcupine that’s living near their house and causing issues. What is a fair rate to charge for such a job? I don’t do adc work generally but have considered doing it as a side job.

Depends on the area. Anything between 200 and 600 would go in my area.

My trapping jobs start at 425 but I'm not so sure on porkys as we don't have them and I ain't got a clue on how to cage one. LOL

Seriously, my conscience has trouble charging for something I don't know or can't guarantee results.

They are easily caught in a large cage trap using fruit that is heavily salted.
Foot holds work well, but may be out of the question if pets roam free.
Set-up $150 , $100 per target animal.
Use a saline solution as a trailing scent. Urine will work well too.
Killed a few just that easy in Utah and U.P.

Don't price yourself out of a job.

As LT GREY said, salt is the key. Old timers used to tell you not to leave out anything made of leather as it would soak up sweat and the porkys would chew on it to get the salt. My grandfather had a porky chew up a nice leather horse harness just for that reason. Learned his lesson that day!

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

LT, my market is Atlanta. What this market is willing to spend is better than most other markets.

Not sure as we don't have them here, but something tells me a double door trap or at least a trap with a release door in the back would be a good idea. crazy
Maybe $125 set up and $100 per animal plus $20 per poke. laugh
