Saw one on the move in the gravel yesterday afternoon near a lane not far from a pond. The total length of its shell was estimated at 10 inches. I wasn't able to confirm if it was a male or female. The video after the photos may be more revealing to member turtle trappers for sex determination. Jonathan VIDEO https://flic.kr/p/28UQYzh

It's hard to ID the sex from that pic. Usually the male has a longer, thicker tail and the vent will be farther away from the the end of the plastron. Nice pic tho..

The underneath shell is slightly concave on a male turtle. It is slightly convex on a female turtle to allow extra room for eggs.
Also, the females usually have their nails painted.
