I found these growing in the gravel on the edge of a driveway fence. The pods were on 7-10 single stem plant stalks growing close together - all about 6 feet tall.

I just tried to compare your photo with a few images on the internet. It looks like it might be fruit/pod from Yucca plant ? There are a few different types. Good Luck !

Yes, those are yucca fruits. It will be impossible to tell which species from the fruit alone, but Yucca flaccida is very commonly used as a landscape plant. It seems to be planted very often at driveway entrances around here.

Thank you men! The mystery seems to have been solved.

This may help. I photographed the plants this morning at two cottages owned by "snowbirds" from possibly Florida and/or California.

looks like yucca plant too.
Around here some were planted by early homesteaders and they apper where no house has been for a hundred years. They don't get invasive in such situations. Very pretty when blooming.

Different from our yucca plants but the base looks the same but the seed stems have a lot more going on with those! Plant on the left is a big one for out here the ones on the right more common size.

Definitely yucca.
We have some escaped ornamental yucca growing wild around WI and tons in landscaping. Prickly pear too, but some say that is native.
