The duke is built heiver the jaws are thicker and cast a little smoother. They also come base plated but the jaws don't have a debris gap.
The wolfcreek is not base plated but the jaws do have debris gap. The jaw also has a weld on it were it contacts the lever not sure why.
I took the 4 could off the duke and the wolfcreek springs are a little stronger

Wow at first glance they look very similar.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

On the Wolf Creek I totally copied the old Northwoods trap.
The pad is welded on there to make the loose jaw set flatter.

No apologies necessary.I'm not a computer guy either.I didn't know these traps were made in the 2 and 3 sizes until I saw this thread.I thought I'd look up the site and was confused there was nothing there concerning these sizes.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

i get plenty bought.most reputable sites take credit cards directly...with top line credit and good plastic along with buying on site. Had over 500 traps until thieves stole them. Starting all over again for my son..paypal sucks, just had a card defrauded buying off this site last week with paypal. Never bought an inferior trap in my life, couldnt in my work. Had to have good equipment at per head animal prices. No catch no money.

Wcp #3 dogless

Jeffa (Sw ok) 7/30/2018 9:55 PM

I just received the dozen #3 dogless traps I ordered. First off, they are heavily built. The jaws and frame appear thicker than the bridger #3 traps. I will use the bridger trap as a comparison. The wcp dogless trap is NOT a use it as it comes from the box trap. The jaw edges are really sharp and must be filed. Most of the j hooks weren’t shut all the way, and the chain looks like the links aren’t welded. The jaw tips on the wcp traps don’t stick out as far as they do on the bridger traps. About half of the tits on the bottom of the jaws are too high to hold the lever down, and the loose jaw is just above level. The springs on the wcp traps feel stronger than the bridger springs. It took me a couple hours with a file to round the inside of the jaws to my satisfaction. I will outside laminate and baseplate the traps, as well as change out the j hooks on the chain. I will bubble tip the jaw tips as well. My primary target is coyotes, and it won’t take long to see if the chain is good enough. I prefer the dogless trigger on the wcp traps to the bridger dogless design. If buying traps that you know need worked on to work, raises your blood pressure, don’t buy the wcp traps. I really enjoy bringing out the full potential of my equipment. The work I put into the traps is a labor of love. I own several brands of #3 square jaw traps, and just about all of them had to have something done to them to make them better. Overall the quality of the wcp trap could be better, but the price would reflect that as well. I’m not disappointed with my purchase of the wcp #3 dogless. I have a near perfect coyote trap when I’m finished with the modifications to the wcp #3 dogless trap. I apologize for the long review, but I felt it was necessary.

With that being said. I have went on 3 different trips with these traps. Pennsylvania fox trapping. Alabama and Mississippi coyote and cat trapping, and also coyotes in my home state of Ohio.
All I have ever done is take them to the car wash and clean them and then wax them. I have never had any problem with them.
I know some like to tinker with there steel. I use to but I don't have time anymore. I just want them in the ground.

And no I don't take credit cards. They charge me to much and I am trying to keep the cost down. And as everyone know PayPal is so much more secure for the buyer.
Thank You
