Should've put a cam up. Walked up to my trap that was moved about 5ft from its original spot. Then found the door was pushed in along with the locking system totally jacked up. Come to find out the neighbor seen the tenant trying to release a raccoon by kicking the cage and then pulling on the door. Had they took a good look at the cage they would've noticed the rear release door on it. Don't remember the thread about damaged traps and pricing, but this is why you charge for gear placed on others property and charge upfront. New one should be in this week.

Destruction of private property is a crime even in Massachusetts. It should be reported and let the nature of the police take it's course. The Darwin raccoon releaser will probably leave things alone next time when they discover they have their name on a police record and it costs money.

Maybe next time they'll get bit.

I wouldn't want anyone to get bit, it all worked itself out. That's why I get monies upfront to do the job, the change order I sent was extra hassle fee work and was paid by the owner. Everything down to the lure/bait stick I use in the cages are accounted for when placing gear on a property. Just an example for them folks who aren't charging for gear and are stuck in the fur trap mode and not business. Enjoy!

Don't wish for that.

Few things upset me faster than to have someone mess with my traps and / or a captured animal.
It's against the law in my state.

You're right.
No one should wish for that.

Some of the uneducated people out there that aren't familiar with traps or wild animals do make a person nervous sometimes.

Good!

That's why a contract is needed, and I had it phrased.."7 Oaks Wildlife Service will be compensated by the customer for trap damage or theft."

This should be a good lesson for newbies (or anyone) thinking a contract isn't needed.

About once/yr for 7 yrs this kicked into play during my biz days.
