Much worse. BUT I waited till prime-probably a mistake because the coon hunters got there before I did. My partner took a year off to keep his shooting eye in good practice. Distemper is known to be around. Too much rain! And I’m older and feeling it.

I'm up to my ears in red fox, they are everywhere. I'm doing horribly, btw.

Tons of sign. Have not set a trap yet but get to set a small line on Sunday.

Worse. Well more like slower , just got my first yote of the year today, so could turn it around in the next 4 weeks.. Coon numbers are way down and I got more sets out this year than last. If I'm making excuses, I blame the Midwest weather, flooding rains, then freezing temps, and repeat. Last year was my best year ever so I went into this season with the bar set high. Still hoping to end the season with decent numbers.

Oh man picked up four big coon and another coyote yesterday. Best day yet this month. I really hope things are turning because first week of December was so tough.

Looks like the coyote population is way down here.Lots of people calling coyotes here and they start in October.

No snow Is bad for snaring coyotes. So yes this season sucks.

my season is way behind im usually at 15 -20 yotes by end of December! This year im at ten our numbers are down and sloppy conditions restrict access to lots of my best farms. Even our coons aren't playing well! On a plus side ive only caught 20 grinners so far!! my set numbers are way down as well I'm usually running 100 plus traps by now and im workin my tail off maintaining 48! Due to snow one day then warm up then rain then freeze then repeat all in a week!

Catching more water animals but by far fewer coyotes available in my area due to deer loss. It's about the same as last year really accept for fewer coyotes.

Couple more coyotes this morning. I humbly withdraw my initial "this year sucks" statement and now it appears to be turning the corner for better.

Our weather is getting better the next couple of weeks. It was super cold and /or rainy for a while, which out me out of the game. It's my first year trapping cold weather raccoons, and it's not going the best. I've got to climb the learning curve I guess. I did well earlier in the season though, it's the first year I feel like I mostly know what I'm doing trapping raccoons, except in the cold weather.

I'm ready for the turn around. Was just driving down the road on the outer edge suburbs of Kalamazoo and seen a huge coyote standing on a deer ripping meat of it. It raining so it looked wicked. Wonder if the social media will be filled with " did you see the "wolf" eating the deer along Sprinkle Road today"

worse, time and other commitments have cut into my trapping. I finally have a SMALL water and land line in and they are doing as good as normal, but everytime I check I see lots of sign and wish I had more time to run a longer line

Worse season I think I've ever had

10 days in and not bad,weather has been a huge factor though.someday things may level out but today don't look to be that day.

No question here. Worse season I've had. Weather is number one factor. Access is very limited and tough to keep land sets or water sets working proper for more than 3 days. I made one good push and shoulda just left the traps hanging. Gonna give it another go here this week and see how frustrated I can get again. I'm at about 10-15% of my normal catch.

Definitely a sub par season so far on canines. Plenty of coon around but not seeing much canine sign. Going to give it another go on some new locations after the new year.

Worse. The new baby really cuts into my trapping time. Before her, I had two days a week that the boys were in school and the wife was at work, so I had those two days to set/move traps and maintain those that were already in the ground. Now, I have the baby on those two days, so she put an end to that. I check traps on those mornings with her and am lucky to remake after a catch. When I'm lucky enough to have some time to set, I have to do a lot of maintenance first, due to our weather. I WILL have waxed dirt next year!

Worse everything has been slow here.
