They pretty much do, so long as the immigrant is ready to work. There is a shortage of young Japanese willing to do the menial, service jobs (waitressing, laborer).

Lots of South Americans there too.

I'm going to come off as pretty selfish here, but I could really care less what happens to the human race in 200 years. I've pretty much lived the life of "The American Dream" and I found it to be a lot less enjoyable than they made it sound growing up. I pretty much pay enough yearly in taxes to fund a minimum wage worker to watch television all day long, my health insurance for my family is enough for a second mortgage, and speaking of mortgage I bought a house at 22 because that's what you do well I got a letter in the mail that they're building a hiking trail 20 feet off my living room wall. My options are to take a little money for my yard that isn't mine anymore or they'll use eminent domain to take it anyways.

So I guess my final theory is I'm going to enjoy my life, and I could really care less if the Japanese people exterminate themselves due to their lack of producing children.

We already have lax immigration laws, which is why the United States takes in over 4 times as many immigrants as Germany, who takes in the second largest amount in the world. Almost 1 in 5 immigrants in the entire world come here.

Japan takes in only 1.1% of the world's immigrants. The US takes in 19.8% of the world's immigrants. 1.9% of Japan's population is immigrants. 14.3% of the United State's population is immigrants.

3.3% of the world's population is immigrants. We take in 6 times our fair share of immigrants.

I am very much in favor of immigration, but think at this time in our history we should only let in people who benefit the people of the US.
