5 dozen 4 coil mb550s on my coyote lines. There a tough trap. Held anything that's been thrown there way this year. Including 2 mountain lions and a bear. Toe catches on all three and no harm done. Can't say enough good things about these traps performing.

X2. Cast jaws that are hooked upon the tips so they CAN NOT be pulled out. Built in night latch is really nice and they lay FLAT right out of the box. Big pan and enough jaw spread to take any coyote foot. I use the 2 coil model but there is a 4 coil model available. If you like to alter your traps, the trap pins are plenty long enough to add 2 coils to the 2 coil models yourself. There are some other excellent traps out there but IMO none are any better than the MB550.

I like the bigger traps. 6" jaw spreads for me.

i also run alot 550's, and a lot of bridger dogless #2's. both are good traps. i will say with the dogless twos that the amount of time needed to adjust them was excessive and i said to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) with it and kick it old school on them, ignoring the "night latch". also, i would advise laminating the jaws on the bridgers. little more foot damage than what i care to see. 550's require ZERO adjustments EVER.

The 550 is a tank ,,, low maintenance worth the $$ spent . This is my choice for K9 s

The 550' S Are Great traps I Just Want Be Able To Use The Biggist trap available to me.

The 550s are awesome, but I really love the 650s. I have some extremes and jr.s, and they are really nice traps, but they are super heavy. I think I like the 650s better.

None really, just wanting to replace some older traps and hand them down to a nephew to get him started.

My friend uses 2 coil 550's they do just fine for coyote and anything else. I believe its one of the few traps thats ready to go right out of the box other than boil and wax. I traded 3 of my bridger2 dogless for 3 550's and I like them they bed really nice. I run mostly Num 2 dogless bridger and some num 2 modified round jaw dukes.

I'm with the bigger is better crowd. I run #3 bridgers and jakes.... I put PIT pans on the bridgers...its a darn nice operation. I've got 2 650's... very nice piece, but my fingers don't work good enough when its cold to get them set. I suppose with a set of the one hand setters, they would be good.

The MB 550 is an all-around good trap. The MB 550 can and will hold a coyote; it is also significantly easier to set than an MB 650. However, the MB 650 is a better coyote and bobcat trap. If you do a mixed line such as fox, coyote, bobcat, and coon you may be better off with the MB 550s. If you are strictly taking coyote then go for the 650.

Im a big fan of the Extreme Jr. traps, reach for those the majority of the time. I do run Bridger #2 dogless and some MB550's as well, but if I had to pick just one, it would be the Extreme Jr., 2 coil.

I like the extreme jrs. I have around 30 of them. I got rid of all my 650’s. I have a bunch of 550’s I never intended to own since I like dogless traps. I mainly own them because I invariably get Cabelas gift cards from someone for Christmas. I end up buying a 550 or two and throw them in the pile. Over the years I have come to realize that they’re a reliable tough coyote trap. I‘ll never get rid of them.

MB550 is a great trap, quality all the way! The only short coming is me, the OneHandSetters resolves that problem very nicely...

I've tried both and I prefer the 550's. Would like to try out a K-9 Extreme someday but the 550's are great traps.

I've got and use some of all of them. They'll all catch and hold a coyote.

That stated, my favorite trap is the K9 extreme! Hands down. Easy to set, easy to bed, low if any maintenance and I know my grandson will be using them long after I'm gone! Best trap on the market in my opinion!

They all work - it's whatever fits your style.

I like the 650. I've never noticed a track on a trap. Very reliable and sturdy

been running 450s 550s 650s bridger3 dogless and some sudden valley 4s the 450s the dogs will bend but easily fixed the 650s pan tension can vary the bridger3dogless can be hard on feet sudden valley 4s havent caught yet and the 550s are catching i did bend the dogs on them to give them 2.5 to 3 lbs of pan tension and they work much better on a mixed line they are a solid trap had one run over by a tractor little bit of work and its back on the line and working perfect
