My buddy just got a PT check from NAFA his fox and mink didn't sell and He averaged $6.00 on his 18 left over coon. And one coon didn't sell.
He did get $5.25 on the one left over rat.

So If the coon market Is coming back It's not coming back to strong.
And none of his grinners sold. LOL

Did better than my hold over East Tex coons. $2.57 ave before commission. It only hurts for a little while. That’s what they tell me that’s what they say. Lol

What a 6XL coon weigh ? You guys grow 'em big up there that's for sure.

Those Jumbos are 30-32 lb coon-weighed on a official weigh scale-honestly biggest I have caught and weighed is a true 34 lb animal-that was flipping huge.

Recent sales to Groenwald are showing an uptick in the coon market. Local buyer news is showing an uptick also. The industry wants 3X and bigger coon. If you have them, there is a decent market forming. But I’m also seeing heavy discounts for smaller sizes.

So far, the polar vortex hit China meaning they’ll be selling a lot of fur garments this year. This is good news for the fur industry

Expand your mind. There are buyers from one coast to the other. All it took was one phone call to get told low 20's for big coon.Seems everybody is hung up on one buyer.

Well most of us aren't willing to travel 100s of miles to sell 40 coon. And lets be honest here just because It's a BIG coon doesn't mean It's going to bring BIG money.

I have sold to NAFA and local and with the commission Nafa can be higher but one or two bad sales and well wish I would have had a say in it. At least with a local dealer I tend to learn about grading sometimes trapping and a good visit. If I feel the offer is off I can counter and sell or walk. Given that very few dealers anymore and the drive by boys got to pay for gas and lodging I miss the days when there were country dealers in most big towns.

Indiana state sale was today, my averages were, $13.50 on XXXXL , $9.75 on XXXL, and $6.75 on XXL. All were well handled, put up fur. Anything under XXL went for $2 to $4 put up from what I saw.

Sold a few the other night and was pleasantly surprised. High of $18 for my best ones. I was more than happy with that in today's markets.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine!
